College Lake family trip
Redpolls and Siskins on the close feeders
Over the weekend the feeders were very busy - with the SISKINS and the LESSER REDPOLLS (yes - NOT Linnet!)
One of the Siskins sat in the caged feeder for about 5 mins chilling out and having a feed now and then.
Quality birding from the bedroom hide!

Another new Granville garden tick
Looking out the bedroom windows this morning I noticed a different plumaged bird on the top back bird feeders - so with a quick look through the binos there were 3 LESSER REDPOLL (Thanks Lucy for spotting they are NOT Linnet as I previously stated!) feeding away with the GOLDFINCH, COAL TIT, BLUE TIT and GREAT TIT
The top feeders are certainly bringing in more unusual species - may be time to put up another feeding station along the back of the garden!

Nuthatch attacking bird box
Ian tapped on my work window after spotting a NUTHATCH acting very much like a woodpecker - by pecking away at the entrance hole to the bird box.
I managed to get a shot and video via iphone and through my very small and pretty rubbish work based binos.
Good spot Ian!

Granville Garden bird action
A very busy garden this morning with ROBIN, BLACKBIRD, GREAT TIT, BLUE TIT, CHAFFINCH, GOLDFINCH, MAGPIE, CARRION CROW, WOODPIGEON and a new sighting of LONG TAILED TIT on the feeders! A great sight.
The BLACKBIRD was having a bath in the pond!
The flock of around 15 GOLDFINCH were spooked in the trees by a patrolling SPARROWHAWK
