Waxwings in Northchurch

Thanks to a notification on Facebook from Fred and timely updates from Dave , I managed to pop into the graveyard up the hill out of Northchurch at lunchtime.
4 very accommodating WAXWING were present - I managed to get pretty close as they dropped down from a higher branch to feed on the berries.

Crossbills at Wendover

A family stroll through Wendover (Hale entrance) on a lovely Sunday morning brought a surprising view of stunning CROSSBILLS - both male and female.
No camera so only a very poor phone shot!

Granville Garden - first day of 2019

A quiet start to 2019 in Granville garden - a clean up of the bird feeders which have been very quiet may help...
Sightings today:
RED KITE, HERRING GULL, MAGPIE, WOOD PIGEON, LONG TAILED TIT, BLACKBIRD

New Years Day trip to College Lake (CAMERA FAIL!)

The Foster tradition of a trip to College Lake continues.... unfortunately the big zoomy relatively lightweight camera decided to stop working!
A pretty quiet reservoir with the following sightings
TUFTED DUCK, MUTE SWAN, MOORHEN, COOT, GADWALL, WIGEON, BLACKBIRD, STARLING, CARRION CROW, LAPWING, GREY HERON, MALLARD, SHOVELER, CORMORANT, GOLDFINCH, KESTREL & BUZZARD
