Magical Otmoor

A relatively quick stop at Otmoor reserve on the way back from Newbury and on the way to see Seany boy.
What a great evening show - I saw 3 CUCKOO flying across the closes meadow. On the way back a pair of TURTLE DOVE were showing very nicely. Such a lovely bird.
Then to top it off the GLOSSY IBIS that has been around for a few days flew up and across the Closes field . Great view through the mini scope .
Picture below taken using my iPhone with the new scope attachment. Works nicely!

Cotswolds wander and twitch on way home

After Rob had left to travel back I went for a wander down the River in search for a cuckoo - no such luck but some nice sightings including a skylark and also a common snipe

On the return home I stopped at Farmoor Ressie in Oxon for a RED NECKED GREBE and also a DUNLIN

College Lake lifer # 288

After a trip to the east coast with Rob - which didn't produce much on the migration side of things, we return to Herts and Bucks to a probable LESSER YELLOWLEGS that turns out to be positive.
I didn't have my camera as we were just doing a local circuit but got a record shot via iPhone. I returned later with Anna (just back from Africa) for a better shot. Quite a twitch for the county - a mega in fact and the first record since 1977.
We had a lovely stop at the bluebells on the way home
Lifer # 288 and year list up to #112
