Granville garden migrant

Looking out the window on a rainy day I spotted a single REDWING feeding at the back of the garden. The first landing of redwing I have had...a fly over this year and the same last year were the only other records

The return of the two bar

A trip to Harrogate to see the Dening clan and go to Di's 60th (while Anna goes to Manchester on a hen do) gave me an ideal opportunity to go back to Broomhead Reservoir.
A nice place that had NUTHATCH, SISKIN, Coal tit, GS Woodpecker, COMMON CROSSBILL and TWO BARRED CROSSBILL.

Gull Dip at Calvert

I drove to Calvert in the hope of a Glaucous and Iceland Gull but nothing on the BBOWT lake and everything was flying over to the sailing lake. Chap gave me directions to get a view if the lake but when I got there I saw hundreds of gulls , and didn't see a grey or white tail amongst them. Iceland smaller than Glaucous for ref....
